“STEREO DRIVER” by Q is so dreamy, so 80s, so groovy, so driving in an old Ford convertible on an 8-lane highway in California (I can’t drive), so grainy, so sunglasses, so0o Prince, sooo Reagan era unfort… “STEREO DRIVER” is a period piece in the most effective way a song can be. Q’s soulful, sweet crooning feel like looking out of the window on a long carride.
“PRESENCE” has thee dirtiest groove and filthiest bass line, garnished with a synthy melodic progression and convicted dramatic storytelling. My 2023 review of it says it best:
“Q is a singer, but a musical painter, actor and a playwright — and “PRESENCE” feels like a mixed media play in multiple acts. Despite the song being an album closer, it can’t help but feel like an exposition, a forewarning: “You’ve come so far to turn back now/Don’t give up now”….A cacophony of distant voices echo across funky bass and synth — they sound like the muses — but their message has urgency. Their voices and the entire song, like Q, demands to be heard.”
I think I have a thing for songs that sound like they could be in movies, so I’m going to keep doing these—cinematic songs. Throw one of these on today if you want something to romanticize your life to.
Finally, Skincare That Boosts NAD+ At the Source
For decades, skincare has focused on aesthetic results. But we started by asking a different question: what if instead of trying to preserve our skin's youth, we prioritized optimizing our skin's function? That's how Aramore’s NAD+ skincare was born.
Developed by Harvard & MIT scientists, Aramore is a skincare system based on skin’s performance, not just its appearance. NAD+ production slows down significantly as we age, and this causes all the telltale science of aging.
Aramore is the only skincare formulated to help skin produce NAD+ like much younger skin would. The result? Skin that’s stronger, firmer, and more resilient, that not only looks better, but stays healthier over time.
